Hi, I just want you to know that the songs below are the songs which
I find great. Someone else may disagree, but the songs below are
the songs which I think are great and those of the people who I have talked
with. Please check out the Movie Reviews as
well. The songs may be bad, but the movie maybe awesome!! I
gave the songs a rating from 0 to *****.
Sangamam - (A. R. Rahman) ARR has gone carnatic on this album. If you love carnatic music, then you'll love this cd. Of course ARR has given his touch to the CD which makes the album even better. There isn't a song which could be considered bad on this CD. All of them are great! To carnatic music lovers its a great treat. Also for others, you'll enjoy it too. I know this, because I'm not a carnatic lover and I like the CD a lot. ****
Kadhalar Dhinam - (A. R. Rahman) The album Roja comes to mind when I listen to this CD. All songs get 12/10. Especially Roja Roja it gets 50/10. The music is amazing. One of ARR best works. No one should miss buying this CD. Two bhangra type songs, two Rahman type songs and two wonderful easy listening songs. *****
Padaiyappa - (A. R. Rahman) Each song in this album can be compared to the songs on Arunachalam. But only if you see the movie. Therefore, when you compare the two, Padaiyappa beats Arunachalam by a huge mile. En Peru Padaiyappa is like Athanda Ithanda. Although this album is great, it doesn't measure up to ARR's usual standards. But nevertheless, it is much better than the average album. ***1/2
Jodi - (A. R. Rahman) This album is the remake of Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (hindi version of Kadhalukku Mariyadhai). This album is very pleasing to the ears. ARR is making two other songs for this album at the moment. They will be released when the movie will be released. ***
En Swaasa Kaatre - (A. R. Rahman) The songs in this album are pretty amazing. It takes some time to get used to the songs. The songs have a type of Spanish or Mexican twist. You can hear that in the most upbeat song in the CD "Jumbalakka". Also, the other songs are amazing. "Thirakatha Kaatru" is wonderful to listen to. Clears your mind. "Kadhal Niagara" is also a upbeat song but not as great as "Jumbalakka". If you like easy listening songs, I'd recommend you buy this CD. ****
Mannavaru Sinnavaru - (???) The songs are pretty well done. If you feel like buying a new tape, I'd recommend this one. None of the songs are what should be considered bad, they are all up to standards. ***
Unnidathil Enae Koduthen - (Ilayaraja or Deva?) This movie features some really great song. The songs in this movie are slow and kind of calming. Not hard beat and fast. Which is great at times. But you could also fall asleep during them. I like majority of the songs. ***1/2
Pooveli - (???) Really nice songs. Again, they're slow but nice to listen to. But some of the songs are only good if you watch the movie while listening to the songs. Or else they are not that great. I like most of the songs. ***
Kannethire Thondrinaal - (Deva) Great songs. All of the songs are nice in this movie. I especially like Eshwara and Chanda O' Chanda. But the other songs are also nicely composed. This CD is worth buying. I like just about all the songs. ****
Uyirae - (A. R. Rahman) Fantastic songs. These songs are really nicely composed. It may take once or twice to listen to the music before getting used to it. But trust me, the songs are really great. Thaya Thaya and Nenjinile definitely are a great hit. But Sandosha Kannere and Poongatrile are great as well. I like all of the songs. ****
Uyirodu Uyiraga - (Vidyasagar) Super! All of the songs are mostly upbeat and really great. The songs I Love You and Poovukaelam are really nice to listen to. The music has been very nicely composed. I like half the songs. ***1/2
Ratchakan - (A.R. Rahman) Beautifully composed, mostly all of the songs have a great beat to them to dance to. I especially liked the song which Anupama sang. (the first song in the movie) The actors who star in this movie can also dance to the movie, which is nice for a change. I like 7/8 songs.****
Naerukku Naer - (Deva) Nice and slow music which helps you relax. All the songs are slow but nevertheless beautifully composed. I especially like Manam Virumbuthe in the female and the male voice. I liked 4/5 songs. ****1/2
Ponmanam - (??) Some songs are well done, but some were kinda low quality. I can't remember the name of the song which I liked, but there were two songs which I liked from this movie. I liked 3/5 songs. **
Jeans - (A.R. Rahman) Nicely done.
This movie has all types of songs; dance, bharathanatiyam, slow but no
sad songs which I personally like. My favourite songs are Hai Rabba
and Kannodu. I like 6/6 songs. *****

Kadhal Mannan - (???) Only one song in this movie was well done. It was the song which came first I think, it was a slow song. Its worth getting just that song from somewhere. I liked 1/(whatever it is) songs. *
Suriya Vamsam - (S. A. Rajkumar) Very well done. All the songs were great, I liked Kadhala Kadhala and Rosapoo Chinnai Rosapoo. Its worth getting the CD for this movie. I liked 4/5 songs. ****
Minsara Kanavu - (A.R. Rahman) Awesome
Songs!!! Everyone should've heard of the songs in this movie, if
not I'll tell ya. Poo Pookum Ossai, Vennilave Vennilave, Oooh La
La ... all done great!! By now everyone should have the CD.
I don't think any of the songs in this movie will ever go out of style.
I liked 5.5/6 songs*****
(The hindi [Sapnay] version has one extra song
which is done very well, a shame its not in tamil as well)
Ottam - (A.R. Rahman) Great Songs! I liked the songs in this movie, since they all were dance and fast paced songs and one slow one. I liked 4/5 songs.****
Kadhalukku Mariyadhai - (Ilayaraja) Very nicely composed. All the songs are slow, "Oh Baby Baby" was the only one which you could consider a dance song. I liked most of the songs such as; Ennai Thalata Varuvala, Oru Patam Puchi ... and so on. I liked 5/7 songs. ***
Kabhi Na Kabhi - (A.R. Rahman) This is a hindi movie, but all the songs are from the tamil movie Mona Lisa except two, which are from Duet and I believe Bombay. I'd say you should get the hindi version CD instead of the tamil one. I liked 6/6 songs.****
Ullasam - (Karthik Raja) Great for
the latest generation with hip and fast paced songs. This movie had
6 songs in total. 3 of them were fast paced songs and the
other ones were pretty slow but great songs.
I liked 5/6 songs. ***1/2
